For your comfort and safety, the staff of the Hôtel Littéraire Le Swann are available to welcome you 24 hours a day.  The automatic doors are locked at night;  the entrances and exits are managed by a member of staff at the reception.

From 7 am to 10.30 am:  gourmet buffet served in the Jacques Guérin room.

Relax for a moment and enjoy some gourmet delights on the ground floor of the hotel, under a magnificent Art-Deco glass roof. 

Whether you choose the express, buffet or in-room option, this is a perfect way to take some time out and start your day with Proust's Parisian madeleine and Céleste Albaret's coffee.

Your breakfast buffet is at 19€ per person.  If you are in a hurry  you will appreciate our express breakfast for €8: 1 hot drink, trio of pastries + 1 fresh fruit juice

 

Other breakfast options are available:
5 am – 7 am:  The Pre-Buffet - breakfast to take away
7 am – 11 am:  In-room tray
7 am – 11 am:  Snacks

Outside breakfast times (between 7 am and 10.30 am), the Jacques Guérin room offers a quiet space to work or relax under its light-filled Art-Deco glass roof.  The atmosphere is peaceful, thanks to the charming Proustian decoration, framed bindings of In Search of Lost Time by Jean de Gonet and its airy chandelier.

The writer's works are available in paperback editions for all visitors and in many languages - English, Chinese, German, Japanese, Russian, Spanish, Greek, Estonian, Turkish, Maltese, Catalan, Georgian, etc.

All you have to do is choose your favourite book by Proust (Swann's Way?  In the Shadow of Young Girls in Flower?  Time Regained?) or one of the countless works on various aspects of his life and work by iconic authors.

There are many different reading areas in the hotel - unless you prefer the quiet of your room.
 

At the Hôtels Littéraires, there are displays of books, documents and collectors' items in specially designed showcases, which are accessible to all visitors.  At Le Swann, Haute Couture items from the Belle Époque era by the great couturier Jacques Doucet are displayed alongside Proustian first editions.  These works, whose interest lies in their rarity and their unique bindings, are regularly loaned for exhibitions on the theme of the world of Marcel Proust.

Manuscripts complete the collection, taken from correspondence by Proust and those close to him and from the drafts of his pages, the famous "placards" (corrected drafts).  The many period photographs enable visitors to immerse themselves in the Parisian world of yesteryear, centred on the iconic figures of Céleste Albaret and Laure Hayman.

This historical map of the period was created especially for Le Swann by graphic designer Ursula Held and literary consultant Hélène Montjean.  It suggests various walks in Paris in the footsteps of Marcel Proust.  With the bilingual paperback version, it is easy to explore the Plaine Monceau district, which is so full of Proustian memories.

Discover the addresses of the most exclusive aristocratic and bourgeois salons in the iconic Faubourg Saint-Germain, straight out of the pages of Marcel Proust, the places of his childhood and his successive homes.
